The Heart, Soul & Vision Behind the Camera
Hi, I'm Chelsey Michon Hall, a boudoir and portrait photographer based in Northern Virginia. For over 15 years, I've been capturing women through a lens of authenticity, artistry, and appreciation for the beauty that makes each of us unique.
But my connection to boudoir photography began long before I opened my studio.
During my master's thesis, Whispered Rhythms, I turned the camera on myself, creating a series of nude self-portraits surrounded by nature. It was an incredibly personal experience that challenged the way I saw my own body. For the first time, I began to see myself with less judgment and a greater appreciation for everything that made me who I was.
That experience changed not only how I viewed myself, but how I wanted to photograph other women.
Today, my work is rooted in that same philosophy. I believe beautiful photographs aren't about perfection or becoming someone else. They're about recognizing the beauty that's already there, embracing every chapter of your story, and preserving who you are in this moment.
Whether we're creating in my Northern Virginia studio or somewhere beautiful beyond it, my intention remains the same: to create an experience where you feel comfortable, seen, and authentically yourself.
But beyond the camera…
I'm a nature-loving, plant-collecting, coffee-drinking kind of woman who feels most at home surrounded by the mountains or the ocean.
Give me a beautiful sunset, a good glass of wine, and great company, and I'm a happy girl. I love hosting dinner parties, spending time with family and friends, and planning my next adventure. Whether it's a weekend getaway, a wine tasting, or an afternoon barefoot by the water, I appreciate the little moments that make life memorable.
Travel has always been a big part of who I am. There's something about discovering a new place, watching the sunrise over the ocean, or finding beauty in the simplest surroundings that inspires me both personally and creatively.
And if there's one thing you'll quickly learn about me, it's that I rarely go anywhere without my camera. I'm always looking for beautiful light, meaningful moments, and another reason to create something special.
